Universitat Rovira i Virgili

Benvinguts al Grup de Recerca SMARTCAT

Our group, located at the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) and led by Prof. Montserrat Diéguez, is dedicated to the sustainable design, synthesis, and optimization of highly active and selective chiral catalysts. Our work contributes to key advances in catalytic processes with applications in the biological, pharmaceutical, and organic industries.

Our research includes organometallic chemistry, stereoselective synthesis, asymmetric catalysis and flow chemistry. By integrating fundamental studies with innovative methodologies, we aim to develop more efficient and sustainable catalytic systems.

To achieve a deeper understanding of these processes, we use a multidisciplinary approach that combines structural characterization techniques, computational chemistry and machine learning.

In our laboratory you will find a place to share new ideas and learn from the research of others.

We organize conferences and seminars where our master's and doctoral students can present the latest research to a broad audience, run training workshops for undergraduate students to inspire future chemists, publish research articles in leading scientific journals worldwide, and collaborate with other research centers on joint research projects to promote innovation and expand impact.

If you are interested in our work, we invite you to explore our latest publications and ongoing projects in the research/publications section.
