1999 marked the birth of Yaroslav Hryhoryev in Khyriv, Ukraine. He graduated from Coimbra University with a B.Sc. in Medicinal Chemistry in 2021. Under the guidance of Professors Mariette Pereira and Mário Calvete, he submitted a research thesis on transition metal substituted Phthalocyanines with the intention of using them in photoacoustic imaging probes.

Under the guidance of Dra. Sara Pinto and Prof. João Pina, he completed his thesis on palladium porphyrins and their use in TTA-UC (Triplet-Triplet Annihilation Upconversion) photonic systems for bioimaging in 2023 to earn his M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Coimbra.

Yaroslav joined the innCAT group at Universitat Rovira I Virgili in March 2024, working under the guidance of Professors Cyril Godard and Prof. Anna Maria Masdeu focusing on the development of new organic/inorganic/hybrid photocatalyst system for application in CO2 conversion into CO and other valuable compounds.
