Èric Cots was born in 1994 in Manresa, Barcelona (Spain). He completed his bachelor's degree in chemistry at the Institut Químic de Sarrià (URL) and he moved to University of Barcelona where he obtained his MSc in organic chemistry. In 2021, he earned his PhD working in the groups of the late Prof. Kilian Muñiz and Prof. Marcos García Suero (ICIQ), staying in the latter group for a one-year post-doctoral position. During this period, he published five peer-revied articles and submitted a European Patent Application centered in Iodine (III) chemistry, enantioselective synthesis and homogeneous catalysis. After becoming a development chemist in the pharmaceutical industry, where he worked in API synthesis and process chemistry, he joined InnCat in December 2024 as a post-doctoral researcher.
