Enric Castillo Pla was born in Malgrat de Mar in 2002. He obtained his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Universitat Rovira i Virgili in 2024. Under the supervision of Dr. Maria Biosca, he did his final project on the synthesis of new tetrasubstituted olefins for asymmetric hydrogenation. In 2025, he completed his master's degree Synthesis, Catalysis, and Molecular Design, doing the master's thesis under the supervision of Prof. Montserrat Diéguez and Dr. Joan Ferré that sought to find suitable catalysts for the asymmetric hydrogenation of tetrasubstituted olefins using machine learning. He is currently starting his PhD under the supervision of Profs. Montserrat Diéguez and Òscar Pàmies. He is interested in asymmetric catalysis and loves using Python for both, chemistry and non-chemistry related aims.
