Darío Fernández González was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain.
He received his B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from the University of Salamanca in 2023, where he carried out an undergraduate research project focused on the use of Metal-Organic Frameworks and nanoparticles for waste valorization.
In 2024, he joined the research group of Prof. Cyril Godard at Rovira i Virgili University (URV), where he obtained his M.Sc. degree in Synthesis, Catalysis and Molecular Design.
His research focused on the photocatalytic reduction of CO₂ using different heterogeneous materials, with particular emphasis on titanium-based nanoparticles and hybrid halide perovskites. Since November 2025, he has been a Ph.D. student jointly at Rovira i Virgili University and Eurecat under the supervision of Prof. Cyril Godard and Dr. Roger Miró. His current research focuses on the design of novel catalysts and systems for the electroreduction of CO₂.
